New Gig - 19th August (Camel Lights)
Posted on Monday, May 29 @ GMT Daylight Time by sandpit

New Gig Well the time has come to announce that we have just booked our next gig for the 19th August. So there ya go, the Camels will soon be back on the road giving it their all!!!

The sad news is that Tom will be leaving for Japan in August and will also be leaving the band, he gave us plenty of notice, and nearly two years ago I think he first mentioned that! Still we luv him and if he ever want's to return, he's more than welcome. Anyway, we all wish him the best at wherever he will be doing out there…

So where do we stand at the moment? 20 Dead Camels (Lights) Well we’ve been rehearsing with just five or six of us lately, Gemma (new backing singer) left as she didn’t think that the band was her kind of thing, but hey, with the Camel Lights, the music is more aggressive and darker than it has been in the past. I suppose it has to be really without the pretty little girlie backing going on repeating every second line that the lead singer sings! Hmmm it did seem a waste of time sometimes though…

I think I forgot to mention that Keith who joined us after Dan quit, also left due to having to many commitments, still no worries again there as we have recruited a complete nutter called Chris (your gonna love this bloke). He’s the type that will play any drum pattern you ask of him, from the darkest depths of the disco beats to the raging double kick drum of thrash metal… and does it all in bare feet! Bloody amazing, and he’s only been playing for fifteen years!!!

Then you got Doug who’s finally come crawling from within to blast out wicked riffs and lead breaks that compliment the songs and back up the vocals when ever needed, we still think he should grow a moustache like the geezer from Sparks (for those who are old enough to remember that is). I Don’t think there’s any chance of that though, we been trying now since 1999.

So anyway, for those who would like to see the return of the Camels, our next gig at the moment will be at the Red Lion in Stevenage on Saturday August 19th. It’s Show time!!!
